WordPress version at DreamHost
DreamHost works closely with WordPress to bring you the most up-to-date features. As such, the newest version of WordPress is always available in your DreamHost panel.
What you need before installing
If you're finding that Remixer or regular WordPress is too limited for your needs, DreamHost support can provide you free access to its new 'WP Website Builder' (BoldGrid).
For more information on installing BoldGrid to your regular WordPress site, please contact the DreamHost support team via Live Chat or email at support@dreamhost.com. A DreamHost support team member can assist you further with setting up the new 'WP Website Builder' for your site.
See the following articles for further information on BoldGrid:
Before you install WordPress, you must first have an active hosting plan such as a Shared, VPS, or Dedicated Hosting plan.
Next, you'll need to have purchased a domain registration. If you have already purchased a domain registration at another company, you'll need to point your nameservers or A records to DreamHost. If you purchased the registration at DreamHost you do not need to adjust the DNS. View the following articles for more information:

Using WordPress automatic updates
As of version 3.7, WordPress now features automatic updates. These are for minor revision updates only (for example, 4.1 to 4.1.1).
DreamHost strongly recommends that you allow these updates to occur automatically as they usually include important security updates or bug fixes.
You can read more about this feature as well as how to disable it via the following link:
Importing
After you install and set up WordPress, you can then import external content. You can do this by logging into your WordPress site and going to 'Tools' > 'Import’.
Importing Content may require additional plugins depending on which platform you're importing.
